HDTV high definition television. Indoor Digital TV Antenna DVB-T2 (Digital Indoor TV Antenna HD TV HD VHF UHF Flat Design High Gain EU Plug FZ2607) TV Antennas hdtv

High definition television, What is it? To answer this question, it is enough just to see once. Spend so to speak comparative analysis! Those. take two large TVs, run regular TV on one of them, and on the other, and compare. At the first meeting you will get an unforgettable feeling!

An approximate difference can be seen in the illustration! On the left is conventional TV, on the right is HDTV. The difference will also be visible on the TV on which you will watch a movie or any other television content. On technical language you can say the following:

HDTV (High Definition TV) is a recently emerged direction of world video, in Russian it is called high definition television. Good old television is able to bring us a picture of 720 by 576 pixels, and HDTV allows you to see television content of 1920 by 1080 pixels. And it's almost 5 times clearer than conventional TV!!!

High definition television

A television high resolution - it's the same as high-definition TV! On this moment two Russian satellite operators are broadcasting in high-definition format! This and . Broadcasting TV channels of various genres and topics, these satellite operators never cease to delight lovers of high-definition television!

When broadcasting began in our city a year ago digital television in DVB-T2 format, I purchased a set-top box to receive it, since my TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner and, accordingly, could not receive the new digital television standard. For reception, a home-made indoor antenna was used, which was made in one evening from improvised materials.
But its unsightly appearance somewhat spoiled the view of the room and it was decided to look for a more or less decent-looking indoor antenna. Several online stores were shoveled, but then appearance, then the price did not suit. Black Friday 2014 came up and that's when the desired antenna was found at a very attractive price.

Delivery

24.12. 2014, an order was made, on December 29, 2014, the seller sent the order (delivery is free, but by One world express) and on January 29, 2015 it was received safe and sound. The seller provided a track number and, judging by it, oh, and how my purchase around the world. From Hong Kong, she got to London, Heatrow Airport and then her traces were lost. She came to Russia from Hungary (???), but after all the ordeals she got to the addressee safe and sound.

Came in a standard white package, where a blister with an antenna was wrapped in a little bubble wrap:

The contents of the blister - the antenna itself with a 2-meter cable and a standard TV plug at the end, a removable stand with a suction cup, and an adhesive "blot" for mounting on vertical surfaces:

There was also an instruction for assembling the antenna in pictures, but it does not carry a special semantic load, so I will not show it.

Assembly and installation of the antenna

The assembly of the antenna was reduced to installing it on a stand and connecting the plug to the antenna jack of the DVB-T2 set-top box. The assembled antenna has the following dimensions:
Height: 23 cm
Width: 20 cm
I didn’t use the “blot”, since the antenna is quite stable on the rack without it. Here it is already at the combat post:

The channels were tuned with a homemade antenna and there is a signal:

Pros:
1.Good appearance for indoor antenna.
2. Price (at the time of purchase).
3.Compactness.
4.Works.

Minuses:
Didn't find it.

The article introduces the principles of making a homemade homemade antenna for receiving channels digital broadcasting and the main models of factory-made indoor antennas. Home TV antenna receives a signal in the immediate vicinity of the transmitting tower, however, on the ground floor, nearby houses and trees will interfere with the reception of channels.

Do-it-yourself home antenna for digital television

Digital television channels transmit multiplexed channels - many, many TV programs are placed on one frequency, and this is transmitted simultaneously. The first multiplex broadcasts on 30 and 34 channels (546 and 578 MHz), and on December 13, 2013, the second multiplex was launched in Moscow at a frequency of 24 channels (498 MHz).

Scroll television programs constantly updated and supplemented. If the tower or repeater is nearby, it makes sense to try to receive channels with a home antenna for digital television. Of course, for this you will have to get a special TV tuner (receiver) - the device decrypts the signal and transmits it to the TV.

The antenna is made of wire with a resistance of 75 ohms. For example, these could be cables like:

  • SAT50;
  • SAT703;
  • SAT752;
  • DG 113;
  • CATV 11 and other brands of cables.

To make an antenna you need:

  1. A piece of cable half a meter.
  2. F-connector for coaxial cable.
  3. Adapter from F-connector to TV tuner.

Working with the cable is easy enough with a sharp knife. A simple equation - the speed of light divided by the frequency of the multiplex - will help calculate the three wavelengths of the multiplexes. The result should be three full lengths of the order of half a meter or more. We divide the value of each length by 4, because we are preparing a quarter-wave vibrator - a television antenna for digital television. Example:

The second multiplex broadcasts at a frequency of 498 MHz. We find the wavelength = 300 / 498 = 0.6 m. Divide the rounded result (60) by 4, we get the length of the antenna (15 cm).

The process of creating a home antenna for television on your own

One end of a 20 cm cable, cutting through the insulation 2 cm from the edge, is equipped with an F-connector. We pull the shielding layer down, then removing the lavsan layer and the central insulation layer. Carefully screw the F-connector onto the end of the coaxial cable.

We mark the finished workpiece with a pencil just above the end of the connector - a transverse line should remain on the insulation. We take a ruler and measure 15 cm (for the second multiplex). We mark the second mark with a line, take a knife or wire cutters and carefully cut off the cable at the second mark. The home television antenna is ready. We remove the shielding layer and the outer shell of the insulation between the first and second mark. For reliable signal reception, we bend the F-connector by 90 degrees.

We attach an adapter to the F-connector and stick it into the TV tuner. We turn the antenna parallel to the floor - in accordance with the polarization of the multiplexes. We try the signal strength by software TV or TV tuner.

Note. The polarization of television signal transmission is traditionally horizontal, vertical is used in radio. The exception is satellite broadcasting - Tricolor transmits to circular polarization– channels catch parabolic antennas.

Since April 2014, the third multiplex has been launched in Moscow, and programs there are already being selected on the basis of tenders. The third multiplex is going to broadcast in both linear and horizontal polarization.

Antenna for digital television MTS

Today everyone wants to watch digital television, and MTS has built a network of towers throughout the country. The company offers to purchase set-top boxes that allow you to watch TV channels. Promotional offer provides the first year subscription fee 190 rubles per month (further payment will increase to 250 rubles). Digital tuner manufacturers claim that a similar digital tuner will be able to receive more than 150 channels, including high-definition television (HDTV) - a real celebration of brightness and clarity for owners of large plasma and LCD panels. Ordering such a set-top box is not difficult.

The order of the order.

  1. We leave a request on the site,
  2. Waiting for a call back
  3. We host masters.

A similar ordering procedure is provided for all regions, however, there are doubts about the departure of a professional installer to a house in the periphery - you will have to call and clarify.

MTS equipment, in general, accepts most of the channels of Moscow multiplexes, this impression remains after familiarization with SD set-top boxes (devices entry level provider classification). Also, the structural components of a typical device are an HD set-top box and a CAM module. The polarization of the MTS signal for each region is different - call service center and clarify. There is a small chance that homemade homemade TV antennas will work in this case (linear horizontal polarization).

Understand if homemade works digital antenna with MTS equipment, the provider's official website will help, containing a section for solving digital television problems, giving a description of all existing equipment error codes.

Purchased TV antennas for TV

Television (not only digital) broadcasts in the meter and decimeter ranges. The approximate upper limit is around 1 GHz. Today all TV is going digital. DVB standard– T (terrestrial broadcasting) – other bands are no longer relevant. Also made up:

  • DVB - C (cable broadcasting);
  • DVB - S (satellite broadcasting);
  • DVB - H (mobile broadcasting).

The given frequencies fit into the UHF range (decimeter waves). To buy the right antenna, the reception frequency is the main factor. Analog TV channels are scattered over different ranges, some receivers also catch radio (FM - range). Let's see how to choose home antenna. Example:

We look and see the Rolsen RDA - 60 home antenna in the online store. The description of the product indicates the ability of the antenna to receive both analog and digital frequencies. When we get acquainted with the instructions, we see the reception ranges - UHF (300 MHz - 1 GHz), VHF (30 MHz - 300 MHz), FM (87.5 - 108 MHz, included in VHF). The last specified connector exists for receiving the radio signal. This means that the antenna reception spectrum is reduced (87.5 - 230, 470 - 862 MHz) - enough for all standards.

In appearance, this is an ordinary vertical pin; the principle of operation remains unclear. The description speaks of the possibility of changing the angle of inclination, this expands the reception range. But on the Rolsen website it is called a novelty, the price of the device is about 500 rubles, the country of origin is China.

From the example considered, we see that any indoor antenna has a certain reception range. After purchase, the product will still need to be installed correctly. Digital television has a horizontal linear polarization, therefore, the antenna should be placed horizontally, or at an angle - only then the antenna will begin to receive digital signals correctly and clearly. Try to take the product with instructions - sorting it out at random, you risk breaking or damaging the device.

Television indoor antennas will pick up a signal, provided that the tower is located nearby. Special antenna amplifier may not always correct the situation. Overamplification of the signal will manifest itself as a double image and red and white noise. When I was cable television overamplification of the signal was a real scourge of provider networks.

Well, here we have considered what kind of home antennas for a TV are. In fact, there are only two types of them, homemade and purchased. The first ones will please us with the fact that they can demonstrate to our soulmate that we can do something with our own hands, the second ones will have great capabilities, in particular, they are calculated for several ranges.

Signal reception quality

It makes no sense to buy an HDTV antenna if you have trouble receiving high definition signals. HDTV signal is broadcast in one of two frequency bands: VHF (very high frequencies) and UHF (ultra-high frequencies). Most HDTV broadcasts are in the UHF band, so it's best to choose an antenna that picks up the UHF signal. However, many antennas are capable of receiving both frequency bands.

Signal reception range

In terms of reception range, there are two types of HDTV antennas. Directional antennas are only able to receive a signal in one direction, but have a longer range, while multi-directional or multi-directional antennas receive a signal from all directions, but usually have a shorter reception range and problems with interference (interference). Many quality HDTV antennas for external use capable of receiving a signal at a distance of more than 50 km, and some even up to 100 km. However, it is important to consider the landscape between your home and broadcast stations. Mountains or urban structures can significantly reduce the range of your antenna, while relatively flat terrain will not interfere with the signal.

Ease of use

When your new antenna arrives at your doorstep, it will most likely look like a bunch of metal rods in a box, from which you will have the pleasure of assembling an antenna. The main influence on the ease of use of the antenna is provided by such factors as the informativeness of the assembly instructions, the presence of additional mounts and free wires in the kit.

Antennas for high-definition televisions (HDTV) have recently become as essential as the televisions themselves, because. Around the world, more and more broadcasters are moving to the HD standard. And to watch TV in the latest HD standard, you only need to buy special antennas that can transmit exceptional picture quality. But you should know that any television antenna that caught your eye in our case is categorically not suitable, because. HD reception requires only an HD antenna.

To buy the right antenna and not waste money and time, you must adhere to the following recommendations.

The first thing to ask yourself is why do we need HD antennas at all?

What is the difference between standard TV broadcast and HD broadcast? For your information, it should be added that HD antennas can receive more than 1000 color lines, while a standard antenna can receive only 480 color lines. In other words, the more lines that can be transmitted over the air, the better and clearer the resulting picture will be in the image. And that's why most people want to buy HDTVs and HD antennas. To justice I must add that HD antennas will be useful to the consumer only if he wants to receive and watch HD television picture for free, that is, over the air. But if you have a satellite tuner or you are going to watch HD programs over the Web, then you do not need to buy such an expensive HD antenna.

In the television equipment market, there are a sufficient number of all kinds of HD antennas. They have different functions and capabilities. Some antennae are quite small - they are a little more than a rabbit's ear, while others can reach impressive sizes. The size of the antenna matters. The larger the antenna size, the better the received quality will be.

But not only is it worth paying close attention to the size of HD antennas. The place where the antenna is installed is also important. If there is a tall building in front of your house or apartment that blocks the HD signal, the quality of your HD picture will leave much to be desired.

To be fair, it must be added that HD signals are transmitted over the air in the same frequency range as analog television signals. Thus, if there is already an analog antenna on the roof of your house, then you do not need to spend money on buying an expensive HD antenna at all. Thus, you will simply throw money away! What you need is to buy a special converter that can convert an analog signal to a HD signal! However, if you have an old analog antenna from Soviet times in general, then in this case it will definitely not work! You will definitely have to buy an expensive HD antenna that can solve all your problems.
Not all TVs are capable of receiving HD signals from HD antennas. The latest HD antennas transmit TV picture in 16:9 format. And if, after connecting the HD antenna, you began to notice black bars at the top and bottom of the image, then this definitely already says that you need to buy a widescreen TV panel. You will have to go to the store and buy an LCD or plasma wide panel. Old TVs are no longer suitable for this.
