When you open a message, you can see the attached images or other data. When creating a new letter, a picture from the smartphone gallery is added to it.

The additional client helps to combine several accounts, highlighting each with a different color so as not to get confused in one list. Although, if you wish, you can view the mail separately. Calendar

The diary is called S Planner. Opens by default current month where all important events are highlighted. It is easy to see them, in each cell on the screen there will be a small mark. Gallery

Pictures fall into one section, where they are sorted by albums, place, time, people, groups. Each group receives a cover, in total, 8 full squares and another half of 4 folders are displayed on the screen at the same time. From here, photography or a slide show is launched using a pair of buttons placed in the upper right corner.

The image is broadcast via DLNA, sent via MMS, email, Bluetooth in social services or file storage. Sets the music and animation for the slide show, as well as the data display speed. The gallery works quickly, without delays, the speed is sufficient, everything is smooth and dynamic.

When opened, the image will be displayed in full screen. At the bottom there will be a scroll bar with small thumbnails of pictures, and at the top there will be a strip of possible actions with the image. You can scroll through both by moving your finger along this line, and by simple familiar gestures. The image is set as the background wallpaper of the main screen or lockscreen, can be assigned to a contact. The picture is cropped, and for this it is not necessary to open Extra options, you can simply hold your finger on the image. Here you can simply mark the faces in the photo in order to quickly find your friends on them later. Wireless printing is supported, and the file can be renamed if desired. The photo editor is not initially installed, but it can be downloaded separately, it is free.

Music player

The smartphone plays various formats, including MP3, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, AMR, OGG, AC-3, apt-X, FLAC. There are several categories in the player: all, lists, albums, artists, mood, folders, external devices. You can add additional groups: genres, authors, years or remove unnecessary ones. The speed of music playback is adjusted and the timer is turned on.

The player control buttons are located at the bottom, these include the track switch and stop / play keys. The button on the right opens the previous menu, and on the left it calls up the equalizer settings. Above is a timeline showing the beginning and end of the song, used for fast scrolling. Starts repeat mode for one song or the entire album, as well as mixed music playback. The volume is changed by the side key or a separate icon in the menu.

Equalizer settings are as follows: Auto, Normal, Pop, Rock, Dance Jazz, Classical, Vocal, Gain low frequencies or high, 7.1 sound, externalization, cafe, concert hall, user settings.

Of all the settings, I would like to highlight a function called the musical square. It helps to choose songs according to the mood. To begin with, the smartphone analyzes all the music in its memory, it takes a little time for a hundred songs, about 10 seconds. Then you can see an area of 5x5 squares, which fall into different categories: exciting, joyful, passionate, calm. Thus, by touching one of the squares randomly, you can choose exactly the song that now most suits the mood from your music database.

For some reason, Samsung removed a convenient widget for switching music, which used to be easily called up when the screen was locked. Now, to switch between songs, you need to click on the status bar, drag it down, and then use the player buttons that are displayed on it.

In terms of sound, the smartphone is on par with such models from the company as Galaxy Ace 2 or Galaxy S Advance. The quality is good, but nothing special, in terms of audio reference models smartphone does not apply.

Radio

The receiver supports RDS, works in the background, and, if necessary, turns off after a set time (30 minutes, 1 or 2 hours). Stations are in both automatic and manual mode. Favorite stations are placed in the lower field, which can be scrolled to the sides, moving between them. The radio works only with connected headphones, you can record the transfer to your phone and save it.

Video

The smartphone supports DivX, MPEG4, H.264, H.263, VC-1, VP8, WMV7/8, can play almost any video without third-party players. In any case, out of several dozen tested files in AVI and MKV, none of them caused problems with playback.

While watching a movie, a scroll bar is displayed on the screen indicating the length of the video. The film can be broadcast to an external device, the image adapts to the boundaries of the display. You can launch the video editor and make changes to the file.

Camera

For shooting, a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash is used. As usual, there is no separate button, so the application is launched either through the lock screen or in the menu itself.

The settings menu is familiar from previous models. In the right upper corner an icon is shown that indicates the location where the photo was saved: the smartphone’s memory or a card, below is a large shutter button. Works as an automatic focus on the center point, and manual. To do this, you need to touch anywhere on the smartphone screen. For clarity, the process is accompanied by color: if the frame is green, then the focusing was successful, if it is red, then the action must be repeated. In the corner is an icon that helps you navigate to the photo gallery.
