Ways to quickly distribute Wi-Fi from a laptop and PC. How to distribute the Internet from a computer via Wi-Fi? Detailed instructions Connecting Wi-Fi without a router

I think many people had a situation where they needed to distribute home or 3G Internet via Wi-Fi to other devices. For example, a phone, a tablet, a player. But here the question arises: “Where can I get the necessary equipment?”

I don’t argue that buying a router can solve this, but why buy one when you probably already have everything you need to create your own access point? This was the case in my situation and I only recently found out about it. So, I present to your attention the Connectify program, which allows you to “share” any of your Internet for access to other devices.

How it works?

I don’t know why until recently I didn’t know that Wi-Fi adapters can work in two directions: either receive the Internet or distribute the existing one. I thought about this when androids learned to “share” the 3G Internet, and then iOS.

How to create an access point without a router?

I warn you right away - the program ONLY supports Windows OS 7 (and higher).

This is how the program was created Connectify , which allows you to share any (cable, adsl, fiber optic, 3G) Internet connection with other devices equipped with a Wi-Fi module using a built-in or connected Wi-Fi card.

It is also worth noting that not only a laptop can serve as a device. A desktop PC with a Wi-Fi card will also work.

Where to download and how much it costs

The program is absolutely free. You can download the latest version on the official website, BUT I advise you not to do this!

It’s a paradox, but in newer versions of the program there are often bugs with available connections. Therefore, I advise you to download the version of the program, which personally has been working stably for me for a long time (by the way, a review of this version will follow). You can download it here .

And now the review

There should be no problems with installation: it is simple and does not require only standard actions. After installation, I advise you to restart your laptop/computer.

Now, after loading the OS, the Connectify program icon with a crossed out circle will “hang” in the tray, which means there is no active access point.

Click on the icon and you will see the main program window.

Everything is very simple:

  • WiFi Name— this is the name of the access point to be created
  • Passphrase— password for the created access point
  • Internet— here we will dwell in more detail because this point is quite important.

In the column Internet, you choose which Internet you are going to “share”.

Next, we definitely need to enable “Wireless network connection" and "Wireless network connection 2" (it was created automatically when Connectify was installed), as well as wi-fi itself. Usually the button to turn on the wi-fi network is located on the laptop body. However, you probably won’t have any difficulty turning on Wi-Fi through the OS interface.

After completing these steps, you can click on Start Hotspot.

That's it, ready. You will see a Wi-Fi connection icon in the tray.

And the program window will display the “Status” status and the “Access Point” connection type.

Also, in the connections tab, two active “Current connections” will be displayed: the Internet you have selected for distribution and your access point.

You can connect devices and use the Internet. When connected, the device is displayed separately in the “Connected Clients” column (the IP address is also there), and next to the Wi-Fi icon in the tray you will see an image of a little man.

It is worth saying that you can simultaneously use the distributed Internet both on your computer and on the device connected to the point. In other words, after “sharing” the Internet from the computer does not disappear anywhere. It remains available both on the computer and on the device connected via Wi-Fi.

About speed

There is no need to say much here. I'll show you some visuals.

Internet speed test on computer (ADSL)

I used an iPhone as the connected device. As you can see, he found our access point without any problems and successfully connected to it.

Speed test via Wi-Fi ADSL Internet on iPhone

Problems and their solutions

The first thing you may encounter is a falling connection. To solve this, go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Change adapter settings. Go to the properties “Wireless network connection 2” and then “Configure” next to your Wi-Fi adapter. In my case, this is "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter". Then, on the “Power Management” tab, UNcheck the checkbox next to “Allow the device to turn off to save energy.”

The second thing you may encounter is an error creating an access point. There could be many reasons, but you can check the following basic points: turn off Windows Firewall through Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\ Windows Firewall. If there are third-party firewalls, then I advise you to disable them for a while as well. they may block the connection.

Third, the absence of any connection in the list of available for “sharing”. In this case, I advise you to download exactly the version of the program that I wrote about above. Once again I give it to her.

Bottom line

Connectify is a great program that will definitely come in handy for you. It may be easier for you to buy a router and distribute the Internet through it, but it will be cheaper if you have fiber optic or ADSL Internet, but, for example, a 3G router is already quite expensive compared to a regular one. In order not to buy it, it will be enough to have a USB modem.

I'm just going to order a Wi-Fi adapter on eBay (this one is very inexpensive) for my computer and distribute 3G Internet using the Connectify program.

Pros:

  • distribution of any method of Internet access, it is enough to have a computer/laptop with Wi-Fi
  • simple and intuitive clear interface programs
  • the program is free
  • there is a version for OS Android

Minuses:

  • lack of support for Macintosh and Linux
  • For the access point to work, the computer must be turned on

In general, the bottom line is this: if you have at least some kind of Internet connection, a computer or laptop with Wi-Fi, then it is not at all necessary to buy a router to “share” your Internet. All you need to do is install the Connectify program, which will do this perfectly.

UPD 07/06/2013

A lot of time has passed since the article was published. I received over 250 comments and I can’t even count how many emails I received.

Basically, these are questions related to the operation of the program. In fact, I haven’t used the program for more than six months now due to the fact that I bought a full-fledged router TP-Link TL-WR741ND, so every time it becomes more and more difficult for me to answer your questions and advise anything.

Most popular question:“Everything is set up, everything works, the Internet is distributed, I’m connected, but I can’t access the Internet. Websites won't load." There can be a lot of reasons!

The first thing to do is check if the device you are connecting to has any problems with other access points.

Try connecting other devices to the created access point. If they are connected, but there is no access to the network, then read on.

Check:

  • Have you set up a working connection as a source for distributing the Internet?
  • Is your firewall disabled...if it is enabled, then the program should be added to the exceptions
  • It happens that your Wi-Fi module is not supported by the program. Try updating your drivers. They can be found on the manufacturer's website. Perhaps everything will work out.

In the article I recommend using old version programs. So, now it’s turned out to be quite good and “non-glitchy” a new version, which I recommend you install in case of problems with the old one. Download latest version programs you can always from the official website

There is often a situation when the Internet is connected to one computer or laptop, and there is a need to distribute this Internet to other devices. Smartphone, tablet, or other computer. If you came to this page, then most likely you know that you can distribute Wi-Fi from a computer and without a router. It’s better, of course, to buy an inexpensive router, connect the Internet to it, and it will distribute it to all devices. But this is not always possible. It is in such cases that you can use a laptop or computer with Wi-Fi adapter ohm

Launch virtual Wi-Fi network and make your computer distribute the Internet in several ways. I would highlight three methods: using commands via the command line, via a mobile hotspot, and using third party programs. Now we will take a closer look at each method. You can choose a more suitable option for yourself and proceed to setup using the instructions that you will find in this article, or using the links that I will leave during the writing process.

How to distribute the Internet via Wi-Fi from a computer:

  • Via the command line. This is the most popular method that works in Windows 7, Windows 8 (8.1) and Windows 10. You need to launch the command line, run a few commands, and open general Internet access. After this, the computer will begin broadcasting a wireless network to which you can connect your devices and use the Internet. I have already prepared two detailed instructions: , and . The instructions are almost the same, they are simply written based on the example of different operating systems.
  • Using the Mobile Hotspot feature. This is a standard feature that appeared in Windows 10. Everything is much simpler there. Just enter a name Wi-Fi networks, password, select a connection for sharing, and start the access point. Setup instructions: . If you have ten installed, I advise you to try this method first. It has its own nuances, which I wrote about in the article linked above.
  • Using third party programs. There are many both free and paid programs with which you can launch a virtual Wi-Fi network on your computer. In fact, these programs also start distribution via the command line, just a little more convenient. No need to copy commands, etc., just click on the button. But these programs do not always work stably and correctly. I also wrote about them in a separate article: .

The instructions to which I provided above are quite sufficient to set everything up. But since I decided to make one large and general article on this topic, I will write for each method detailed guide. Of course with pictures.

Note! If you want to distribute Wi-Fi without a router using a desktop computer (PC), then you must have a Wi-Fi adapter. Internal or external, which is connected via USB. I wrote about such adapters. In laptops this adapter is built-in.

It doesn’t matter whether you have a PC or a laptop – Wi-Fi should work. Driver for wireless adapter must be installed and the adapter must be in the list of connections" Wireless network", or "Wireless network connection". To check whether it can start Wi-Fi distribution, run command prompt as administrator and run the command netsh wlan show drivers. Next to the line "Hosted network support" should be "yes".

Let's move on to the settings.

How to distribute Wi-Fi via the command line?

Let me remind you that this method is suitable for Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7.

You need to run the command line as an administrator. In Windows 7, open "Start", then "All Programs" - "Accessories". Right-click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator". In Windows 10 and 8, you can simply right-click the Start menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).

Copy and execute (using the Enter key) the following command:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid="my_wi-fi_network" key="12345678" keyUsage=persistent

This command specifies the name ssid="my_wi-fi_network" and password key="12345678" for a Wi-Fi network that will be distributed by a PC or laptop. You can change your name and password if you wish.

To start the access point itself, you need to run the following command:

This is the result you should get after executing the first and second commands:

Devices can already be connected to the running Wi-Fi network, but the Internet will not work yet. Need to open public Internet access.

To do this, go to "Network Connections" (Network and Sharing Center - Change adapter settings). Right-click on the connection through which you are connected to the Internet and select "Properties".

Next, on the "Access" tab, you need to check the box next to "Allow other network users to use the Internet connection of this computer" and select a new connection from the list. The connection name will have a number (not necessarily the same as in my screenshot), and below is the name of the network, which is indicated in the first command.

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

And run it again with the command:

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

After these steps, you can connect to a Wi-Fi network called "my_wi-fi_network" (if you haven't changed it), and use the Internet. As you can see, without Wi-Fi router A.

If you encounter a problem where devices cannot connect to an access point, or connect but the Internet does not work, then first of all, disable your antivirus and firewall. Also see the articles, links to which I will provide below.

Might be useful:

  • – when there is no access tab, drop-down list, etc.
  • - solutions different problems. This includes the errors "The hosted network could not start. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the required operation."

It should be noted that a computer does not always willingly turn into a router. Sometimes you need to dance with a tambourine :)

Set up Mobile Hotspot (Windows 10 only)

In this case, everything is much simpler. Open "Options" (the button with the gear icon in the Start menu) and go to the "Network and Internet" section.

The "Mobile hotspot" tab contains all the settings for this function. The network name and network password. If you want to change them, click on the "Change" button. Set new ones and save.

If any problems occur, disable your antivirus and firewall.

Hello, my dear friends! Today I will tell you how to quickly build a network in the airspace to which other devices that also have Wi-Fi receiver. Here you have a desktop computer. But let me remind you that, as a rule, they do not have a built-in WiFi adapter.

But you shouldn’t despair; just visit any computer store and purchase an additional device. They are inexpensive, take up little space and look like a regular flash drive (I wrote a review of popular models in this). My young network wizards, today in a simple way I will tell you how to make your computer distribute a wireless network via Wi-Fi.

I will tell you about the three main methods and start with the most convenient in my opinion - through the magic console. Next, we will consider the usual interface method and the software one. The most important thing is to check that the drivers for the transmitter are installed and that it works quite actively and normally.

NOTE! If the Internet distribution did not start, after magical manipulations, some kind of error appeared or something did not work out in the process. Just skip to the very last chapter in this article - where I discuss solutions to such problems. You can also describe them in the comments, and I will definitely help you.

Examination

Unfortunately, not all modules can simultaneously receive signals and distribute a Wi-Fi network. Some people are simply not able to do this, while others simply need to update the driver. Let's check whether your antenna can build a network in air currents. You need to launch the console as an administrator and enter a magic spell.

  1. Let's go to Start.
  2. Enter “CMD” in the search bar. Right click by application and run as administrator.

netsh wlan show drivers

A window will appear with complete information about yours network adapter. The line “Hosted Network Support” should have a positive answer. Otherwise, you need to look for updated software for your gizmo.

If nothing happens, then most likely the drivers are not installed. Just go to the manufacturer's website and download from there. Or through the device manager in the “Other devices” section, update the drivers from the Microsoft center.

Command line

This is black and ancient magic that allows you to do whatever you want with your computer. Today you will learn about a spell that can awaken the hidden network forces of Wi-Fi in your car. It doesn’t matter what kind of Windows you have, the method will help on all OS from Microsoft: 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

  1. We still launch the console and write the spell. Unfortunately, on the seven you cannot copy the command and will have to be entered manually. On ten, just copy from here.
  2. First, cast a spell that allows construction local network:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow

  1. And now the main spell:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=”HerenecessaryenterNameWIFI” key=”HerenecessaryenterpasswordfromWIFI” keyUsage=persistent

  1. Change fields ssid=”______”(WiFi name) and key=”_____” (password from her). Once everything is ready, press Enter:

  1. Hurray, we managed to launch the beast, but for now it’s just in a cage. Roughly speaking, there is a Wi-Fi network, but the winds of the Internet do not blow through it. Now let's correct this misunderstanding.
  2. Press Win+R.
  3. We write the command ncpa.cpl and activate the spell.

  1. So my network “site” appeared, and you will have your own. Now we just need to allow this network to use the Internet connected to this PC. My connection is via cable. There it is - the first connection. We go to properties and there we find the “Access” tab. You just need to allow all local users from this machine to use this Internet. I almost forgot - also indicate for which network access should be allowed, but by default everything should already be there (in the line "Connect home network» change the value if it is different).
  2. Again, go to the console and enter two commands one by one, after each press Enter to run:

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

  1. The first spell activates the network, the second deactivates it. This is how you will launch it now. To change the password and network name, you need to use the full spell as at the beginning.

Now you can connect to an access point, which this computer serves as, and receive Internet on your phone, tablet, laptop or other PC with a Wi-Fi module. You just need to connect to this network and enter a password to gain access.

Via interface

This is a more rural method, since you will use prepared buttons from operating system. At the same time, it is not a fact that the network will start, but this method there are advantages in terms of convenience and autonomy when starting the system.

Windows 7

How to distribute Wi-Fi from a computer to Windows 7 through the interface? On a seven, everything is a little more complicated than on a ten, but making a router out of a PC is quite possible. Go!

  1. Click on connection and select "Network and Sharing Center."

  1. Now we find the inscription: “Set up a new connection or network.”

  1. Scroll a little and find the item “Setting up a wireless computer-to-computer network.”

  1. Here I think you can guess for yourself what is where. Be sure to set the encryption type to WPA2. Check the box to save the settings and click "Further".

  1. Be sure to enable sharing at the very end so that the Internet in this local area is used for secondary, connected devices. We close the window.

Windows 10

If the console never fails, then problems may arise with this, especially for stationary PCs. In general, the manipulations are very simple and suitable for everyone.

  1. “Start” – “Settings” – “Network and Internet”.
  2. Find the section on the left side "Mobile hot spot"

  1. Change the password and grid name by clicking "Change". And turn it on with the slider at the very top. Below there will be a drop-down menu in which you select your Internet connection - do not forget to select yours: via cable, 3G/4G modem or connection to a router. To see which one you are using, just left-click on the connection in the lower right corner.

Video instruction

Using the program

To distribute the Internet to other devices over the air network, there are a huge variety of programs on the Internet. I can only mention a few that I used. Well, I didn’t really use it – I just tried how they work. I was able to easily launch the SSID using:

  • Virtual Router
  • Switch Virtual Router
  • Maryfi
  • Connectify

The program interface is very simple, and some do not even require installation and you just need to download it from the Internet and run it. The principle is the same - you enter your Wi-Fi network name, password for it and launch it.

There is simply no point in writing about this, since even a child can figure it out. All programs can be downloaded from official websites from latest update. But you can look for other programs.

Problem solving

And so the most common problems, this is a full-fledged operation of the adapter. Sometimes drivers go wrong or the transmitter simply turns off. We need to go to "Device Manager". And look at the network adapters.

Sometimes the system deliberately hides some hardware, just click to turn on the display of invisible devices. If you notice an arrow next to the Wi-Fi transmitter, this means it is not activated. We just have to activate it.

If it doesn’t help, immediately update the drivers for each adapter with the name Wi-Fi. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to look for firewood on the Internet on the manufacturer’s website. Look at the adapter and simply enter the company name into a search engine and it will give you the official website.

Try disabling your antivirus. If this doesn't help, let's tinker with the firewall. For this:

  1. Win+R
  2. Services.msc

  1. Click on "Services". On the right, the list will be displayed in alphabetical order. We just need to find "Windows Firewall" and go to properties.

  1. Make sure it starts automatically. If this is not so, correct it, and then click on the button "Run" and apply the configuration.

A few more methods and solutions:

  1. Update your Windows OS to the latest version.
  2. Restart your PC.
  3. Check that the Internet on the main computer is working properly and is turned on.
  4. Update the drivers not only for the adapter, but also for the built-in network card. And it’s better for the entire motherboard on the manufacturer’s website. To find out the model, just write the spell in the black screen of the magic console:
    1. Under « Product" and there will be a motherboard model. We simply enter this combination of numbers and letters into the search engine. We go to the website and download the latest update package.

You must understand that the adapter in both the PC and laptop is not intended for network distribution. For one-time launches this is quite possible, but for constant use it is not suitable. Still, I recommend purchasing a separate router. Yes, it will cost around 3000-4000 rubles. But it will perform its functions much better than a regular adapter.

If too many devices are connected (up to 8 by default in Windows OS), it may not be able to withstand the load and burn out, or it will simply work slowly. It’s even worse if it’s built-in, like a laptop, and you have to buy external module in case of breakdown. And most importantly, such adapters have a small coverage radius and often work in a small diameter.

Someone will try to connect through the wall and there will be constant disconnects, packet loss and Internet shutdowns. I have already reviewed the most popular router models - just read and choose the one you like. Well, if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them in the comments.

At the request of visitors, I am posting this article...
Distributing the Internet via Wi-Fi is actually very simple. Almost exactly the same as . It can be distributed in several ways. Now let's look at them in more detail.

1 way to distribute Wi-Fi.

The simplest and most effective is to buy a Wi-Fi-enabled access point. When purchasing, pay attention to this and the capabilities (in particular, speed). Everything is described in detail in the instructions for use. I won't write about the setup, because... There are now a great many brands and models, and entire websites are usually dedicated to customization. It’s better to contact your Internet provider for help (if you can’t figure out the instructions). They have such a service.
I’ll just write briefly that you buy a router, then connect an Internet cable to it, then connect it to a computer with a cable, and then you configure everything on the computer or directly in the router (depending again on the model).

2 way to distribute Wi-Fi

If buying a router or router is problematic for you, then you need to buy either a separate “bar” in system unit(namely in ), which looks something like this:

or, if there is no space on the motherboard or it doesn’t fit or the toad is choking, you can take an adapter something like this:

In the screenshots I showed options with antennas. They will transmit the signal better and you need to take them preferably. There are also such devices without antennas (for example, adapters like flash drives). They are cheaper, but the signal quality will be worse. If we already touched on the topic of quality, then adapters that plug into the USB connector will also be worse than those that connect directly to motherboard. This factor is also worth taking into account.

Let's assume that you already have Wi-Fi access on your computer, now you need to “share” (distribute) it. This can be done either according to the instructions, going through the steps, or you can take a slightly different path.
This has already been described in the article, as well as in the article to which I gave a link above. There, one commentator described the same actions.
But I digress a little.
In general, we launch it, preferably with administrator rights. Next we enter into it:

netsh wlan show drivers

and pay attention to the highlighted line:

This line will show us whether the computer is working as it should, namely to act as an access point (“distributor” in common parlance). It needs to be there Yes, if it will be No, then you need to either update the device’s firmware or replace it altogether, because it does not support such a feature.
If your version of Windows is properly Russified, then the line will be called Hosted Network Support: Yes

Now enter the command into the command line:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NETWORK NAME key=PASSWORD

This will create our access point. Please note here:
NETWORK NAME - write what it will be called yourself, preferably in Latin letters
PASSWORD - it must be at least 8 characters.

Now enter the command:

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

With this we activate our network. The answer should appear as in the screenshot above ( The hosted network started, but in Russian it will be Hosted network is running). If the answer is hosted network couldn't start, then reconnect your bracket/adapter or start searching for new equipment. This error means that your module was not found.

Next we go to Network connections V Control panels which is located. We are looking for ours there Wireless connection or LAN connection(depending on how you connected) from which you are on the Internet, right-click on it and select Properties.

Go to the tab Access and check the "Allow use by other users" checkbox. A drop-down menu will open in which you need to select the created connection:

Click "OK" and check whether Wi-Fi works and is distributed...
It happens that Internet providers prohibit multi-user access. Then you will need to register the IP manually (in the Internet protocol properties you need to select “Use the following IP addresses”).

3 way to set up Wi-Fi distribution

You can use the standard Windows capabilities to create a new network connection. To do this in Network connections run the “Connection and Network Setup Wizard” on the left (in XP this is the “New Connection Wizard”), then select “Configure a computer-to-computer network”, then enter a name for the network, then in the “Security Type” section select WPA2-Personal and enter the password in the “Security Key” field.
The next step is to click on the “Enable Internet connection sharing” button and close the wizard.
If you did everything correctly, then you will again find yourself in Network connections. Select the “Change sharing settings” link on the left and enable discovery and sharing there (optional).
All. Now let's check.

4 way to distribute Wi-Fi from a personal computer.

In the article about distributing files from a laptop, I provided a link to the program Connectify. It also simplifies the entire setup and allows you to distribute the Internet (if you already have an adapter or Wi-Fi module). But now the developers have really gone crazy and decided to make some money on it due to its popularity and now free version You can only distribute 90 minutes and cannot work with 3G and 4G modems. In general, I don’t think that this method will suit you, but if you want, you can download it from. I would like to note that it works with Windows 7 and 8.

About how to work with it, as well as learn good alternative, you can read in the article about.

That's all I have. I hope that I didn’t disappoint you too much and that you can set up Wi-Fi on your computer and distribute it yourself.

Connecting your phone to your computer via wifi will help you significantly save expensive 3G traffic and create your own wireless network even without access to a router. And in this article we will look at how to distribute wifi from a computer to a phone, and also touch on technical features such a non-standard Wi-Fi network.

Of course, you can distribute Wi-Fi from a computer to a phone without a router only if the PC has its own Wi-Fi adapter. This question discussed in more detail in articles And.

So, among the most common ways to connect your phone to a computer via wifi, you can note creating a Wi-Fi connection using Windows and using the command line. By the way, the computer here acts not only as an access point, but also as a repeater.

How to distribute Wi-Fi from a computer to a phone via the Windows 7 interface?

To begin with, let's look at the option of connecting via Wi-Fi using Windows 7: this is the simplest and universal method creating a network between a computer and a phone.

Please note that the names of folders and files for others Windows versions may differ slightly.

  • - To transfer files from a computer to a phone via wifi, the PC must have an active Internet connection;
  • - Create a new connection “Wireless computer-to-computer network”;
  • - Fill in the network name (for example, let’s call it “MyNewNetwork”), (WPA2 - PSK) and the key (create a password) for the created network, and click “Save settings” - “Next”;
  • - Click "Turn on connection sharing." This completes the transformation of the computer into an access point. In the "Sharing Options" section, set "enable" to all required items

Now from your phone search for available wifi points, find the network you created (“MyNewNetwork”) and connect to it by entering the security key.

How to distribute Wi-Fi from a computer to a phone via the command line?

To distribute the Internet from a computer to a phone via wifi:

Open " Command line»;

Enter “netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid= wifi phone key=000000 keyUsage=persistent” (accordingly, all commands are entered without quotes);

  • - a notification will appear indicating the successful placement of the network you created (“MyNewNetwork”);
  • - in the “Device Manager” (“My Computer” - “Management”) a device called “Miniport Adapter” will appear virtual WiFi Microsoft";
  • - click on the created connection and open “Property” - “Access”;
  • - set both parameters to share and select a new connection from the list.

To enable the network, open Command Prompt again and type “netsh wlan start hostednetwork”.

This command must be entered every time you turn on the computer - thereby you determine when to provide access to your network.

To disable - “netsh wlan stop hostednetwork”.

To change the name or password - “netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=”WifiNewName” key=”New password” keyUsage=persistent”.

To recover your password - “netsh wlan show hostednetwork setting=security”.

In addition, to simplify connecting your phone via wifi to a computer, you can make a mini-utility that will contain a command to start the network:

Open Notepad or Notepad++ editor and enter the command to start the network;

Save the file with the extension .bat in the “File name” column, for example - new-wifi.bat;

After saving the program, to start the network, just open this file.

The .bat files, and especially the .vbs files, require the English keyboard layout to be enabled.

However, such a network has a significant drawback: the computer will distribute Wi-Fi to the phone and other devices only in the “active” operating mode, but the network will become unavailable even if the PC simply goes into sleep mode. Therefore, it is recommended to immediately disable the Hibernation mode.

How to connect a phone to a computer via wifi: automatic network mode

Can also be customized automatic switching on and turning off the network if the Internet needs to be distributed for a limited time.

Create 2. bat file: one with the on command, and the other, respectively, with the shutdown command. For this:
