As you can see on the map, the coverage area is directed to the central part of Russia, and due to the power of the broadcast signal, it is possible to receive confidently on an antenna with a diameter of 50 centimeters or more. For broadcasting in the Siberian, Ural and parts of the Far Eastern federal districts, Tricolor TV uses the Bonum satellite 156 degrees east longitude. Reception of a television signal from a satellite of the Eutelsat W4 series covers most of the territory of Russia and the Belgorod region is located in the reception area with maximum power. Channels from which the absolute majority of satellite television viewers in Russia receive - 36 0 E, Ku-band, circular polarization, high signal power. The satellite broadcasts on the territory where more than 80% of the population of Russia lives. It is very important that the guaranteed service life of the Eutelsat W4 satellite is 15 years, which means that it guarantees long-term stable operation of the designed systems without reconfiguring to other satellites.

Let's choose the satellite Eutelsat W4, W7. Its azimuth = 182 degrees 231 minutes and elevation = 32 degrees 717 minutes.
Additionally, the program implements the calculation of the azimuth to the sun, and now it is possible to do without a compass! The calculation is made for the point, the geographical coordinates of which were set to calculate the azimuth to the satellites. Altitude above sea level is considered to be 0 meters. You can specify a date (by default, the current date is taken) and calculate the movement of the sun with a resolution of one minute. The calculation results are displayed in the table on the left side. For the sun, both azimuth and elevation are calculated at the current time. Thus, this makes it possible to do without a compass when installing the antenna. First, we determine the azimuth to the desired satellite. Then the azimuth to the sun is calculated on the day on which we plan to install the antenna. Having found in the table the azimuth of the sun that is the most equal to the azimuth to the satellite, we get the time (and date) when the sun will be in the same direction as the satellite. IN right moment time we turn the antenna directly to the sun, the azimuth of the sun at this moment coincides with the azimuth of the satellite. Or just mark this position, the antenna can be rotated later. When calculating, we indicate the time zone (Moscow +3 hours from Greenwich Mean Time). Additionally, the program calculates the azimuth of sunrise and sunset, as well as the time and elevation when the sun is due south.
The program draws a simple diagram showing the sides of the horizon (Figure 11). The shaded sector indicates daylight hours, its eastern part is sunrise, the western part is sunset. On the same diagram, you can schematically display the direction to the desired satellite. Select a satellite in the drop-down list, the direction to it (azimuth) is drawn as a separate line. If the elevation angle to the satellite is negative, then the line is not drawn (the satellite is not visible).

Offset printing is now widely used satellite dishes. Such an antenna, standing strictly vertically, already has a certain elevation angle (~ 20-25 degrees). You can enter the dimensions of the offset antenna (height and width) and the program will calculate the exact angle of elevation for this antenna. The calculation is made only for antennas whose height is greater than the width. Antenna dimensions are entered in millimeters. It will also show the angle of elevation to the selected satellite, and the angle at which you really need to install the antenna (in degrees from the ground plane).
