Inexpensive smartphone ZTE Nubia N1 will be of interest to a wide range of users. This is a cheap mobile phone with features that are inherent only in top cellular models (we will talk about them in this review). The model is made mainly of metal - a metal non-removable back cover, and plastic strips are made at the top and bottom (so as not to jam the antenna signal) and branded, impact-resistant wear-resistant glass. The Home button has the familiar round shape. The speakers and headphone jack are in convenient places, the sound will be loud even if the phone is in your pocket.

phone out of the box android firmware version 6.0 with a proprietary shell Nubia UI 4.0. The shell is fully adapted and translated into Russian. All programs are immediately installed on the desktop. The Nubia N1 phone has an item in the menu, it is called “Surface movement”. This menu includes additional option, which allows you to control the phone using the side faces. As an example, you can double-click on the top left edge and this will take you back a step. Or if you swipe along the right side, you can raise or lower the brightness. With a variety of gestures, you can take pictures, take screenshots, shoot videos, selfies and launch programs. All this can be easily and conveniently configured in the smartphone menu.

To date, the antutu rating shows more than 45 thousand points. This is quite enough for the most modern games, and it will be possible to play at high settings. The smartphone has 64 gigabytes of internal memory and there is an expansion slot for SD cards up to 128 gigabytes. The phone does not slow down, does not freeze. Nubia N1 has a 5,000 milliamp-hour battery. This allows the smartphone to work up to 2 days without recharging (NeoPower technology), with moderate use. This is an excellent indicator for such a productive processor, which can be compared with few competitors from another manufacturer.

Despite the capacious battery, the thickness mobile phone does not exceed the usual dimensions of a smartphone with a 5.5-inch screen. By tradition, very interesting technologies were applied to the screen. It can be divided into several parts, which allows you to run multiple applications. This is extremely convenient with a screen size of 5.5 inches. FIT technology allows you to control programs (camera and applications) using gestures.

The phone comes in two types: 32 and 64 gigabytes and has several colors: gold (Gold), black (Black) and gray (Gray). Supports two SIM cards and has a separate slot for microSDHC cards. The expansion card slot will help expand the capabilities of the smartphone by adding up to 128 gigabytes of memory to it.

The phone received the most positive reviews. Summing up, we can say that this is one of the most best smartphones with high performance in the same price segment, there is no need to even compare it with other phones. Suitable for both everyday tasks, shooting photos and videos, and for more difficult tasks. You can buy this model at a low price in Moscow only from us, the smartphone is always in stock.

Battery capacity is never enough, all users of the voracious Android know about it. That is why many manufacturers began to equip their gadgets with 3000 and even 4000 mAh batteries. But this is sometimes not enough, for example, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 with a platform on the MT6795 Helio X10 and a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels worked for only a few hours with the screen on. New ZTE nubia N1 also received a media library platform and a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display, but the problem of autonomy is solved in this phone: it is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery.

Design

There are two design options for sale: silver and gold. Someone will say that the overall design is similar to Apple's, but considering how often different manufacturers borrow design elements from the sixth generation of iPhones, the smartphone can be compared with Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Meizu m3 note. Although there is no clear similarity here, rather a general trend.

The white front panel, typical for most devices, the back side, merging with the side faces, dividing strips, a number of large holes for the speakers at the bottom. And, of course, a nice matte finish, which is typical for everyone. expensive smartphones recent years. In something zte numbia n1 even self-sufficient: probably with a red edging of the camera and a red circle on the home key. These elements have already become branded for ZTE.

Technical capabilities

This 5.5-inch phablet is powered by Mediatec's Helio P10 with four 2GHz and four 1GHz cores. Mali-T860MP2 is responsible for the video component. Considering a sufficiently productive platform, the manufacturer did not regret how random access memory, the volume of which is 3 gigabytes, and the amount of permanent memory is immediately 64 gigabytes. In addition, the device has an expansion slot for microSD cards.

As for the photo capabilities, both the main and front cameras received a resolution of 13 megapixels, which cannot but please selfie lovers. In addition, the gadget is equipped with a fingerprint scanner that can unlock the smartphone. Considering all these features, the phone will really appeal to most demanding buyers on a budget. Among the famous brands, it is not worth looking for solutions with a similar platform. Do not forget that in addition to an interesting design and productive hardware, the buyer also receives the sixth Android with the Nubia UI 4.0 proprietary shell.

Hi all!
Today, the review will be devoted to a new smartphone from ZTE, or rather from its sub-brand Nubia. The announcement of this model took place back in February 2017 at the MWC 2017 exhibition, and became available to customers a little later, in March. The new Nubia N1 Lite belongs to the budget segment with all the consequences. It has the following features: 5.5 inch screen with 2.5D, 3000 mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, dual SIM, support 2G/3G/4G networks, etc. More about this and everything else, we'll talk further in the review.

This is my first acquaintance with phones from ZTE and Nubia in particular, so I don’t have any positive or negative experience from using their devices yet. Detailed reviews As well as normal information about the device, I could not find it on the Internet, there is also no page on the w3bsit3-dns.com forum. I'll have to figure it out on my own, I hope I won't miss it in the review important points and I will open the topic completely. Well, let's start our acquaintance with N1 Lite by studying the manufacturer's specifications:

Packing and scope of delivery
The parcel was sent by Singapore Post and reached me without incident in 18 days. A completely standard white package arrived, the contents inside were wrapped in several layers of protective pimply film. I did not take pictures of all this, I think there is nothing interesting here. Along with the phone, the seller also sent a simple silicone case.

The device is delivered in a small white box made of thick cardboard, which, by the way, was sealed in a film. Those. no one has touched the contents before me. On the front side of the box, we are greeted by the Nubia brand logo.

On the back side you can find very brief technical features product and other information.

There is nothing special or outstanding in the kit. Still, we must not forget that our model is budgetary and the manufacturer must save on everything. The box contains the following:
- The phone itself
- MicroUSB charging cable,
- Charger,
- User manual and warranty card.
Unfortunately, there is no unpretentious headset or headphones, they are less and less often put in the kit with the phone.

The charger comes with a European plug, so you don't have to mess around with adapters. Judging by the characteristics of the output, we have 5V / 1.5A, I will tell you directly that it is not enough. A quick verification test showed that in reality it is - 1.5A, if you load it with a little more current, the voltage immediately drops to unusable 3.3V. Given that the declared battery capacity is 3000 mAh, the phone will not charge quickly, and there is no support for fast charging.

The complete cable is only 70 cm long, the charge current of 1.5A from the native charging passes without any special voltage drops. Suitable for use, but if desired, you can replace, good cable now you can buy at a fairly affordable price.

Appearance
Next, let's take a look at the phone itself. Taking it out of the box, we see that it is covered with protective, transport films. Which we immediately get rid of, because they will interfere with the normal use of the gadget.

And of course, do not forget to remove the film from the eye of the main camera!

Looking at the device, you can immediately understand that we have another black rectangle in front of us. The design is not original, quite familiar to modern smartphones, devoid of any unusual chips or features. The case is made of black matte plastic, the structure of the surface is similar to sandpaper-zero. In addition, on the front side you can see a thin golden metal edging. I hope the paint will not come off from it, as it happens with many other devices of different brands (in particular, with Samsung). The dimensions of the smartphone are as follows: length 153.1 mm, width 77.4 mm and thickness 8.5 mm. The weight is 172.9 gr. In principle, it is normal to hold the phone in your hand, except that the width is not entirely comfortable. Due to the fact that the plastic surface is rough, and the edges are not rounded, but flat, the device does not tend to fall out or slip off. What can not be said when wearing in a silicone case, in the summer, your hands sweat and the slippery case just wants to slip out of your hands.

The front side is occupied by a 5.5-inch HD display, a selfie camera with a 5 MP flash, light and proximity sensors, a light indicator and a speaker. There are no physical or touch buttons, Bottom part it's just empty space.

The indicator is made in the form of a small luminous dot, when charging up to 90% it lights up red, from 90 to 100% the color is already changing to green. It also signals a low battery, at 15% it starts to shine red, thereby informing us that it is necessary to recharge the device. And when receiving notifications, it does not matter what, whether it be SMS or messages from social applications- flashes green.

The back side, as already mentioned, is completely plastic. It does not collect fingerprints or other stains on itself, which is undoubtedly a plus for the N1 lite model. There is a Nubia brand logo.

It also houses: the main camera at 8 megapixels, a dual flash, a fingerprint sensor or another fingerprint scanner, as well as a hole for the second microphone and the grid of the main speaker.

On the right side are placed: a volume rocker, as well as a power button. They are pressed easily, the stroke is short and soft. The left side is devoid of any interfaces.

The top edge is occupied by a single headphone jack, 3.5 mm audio jack. This is the location of the audio jack I like best. On the bottom, you can find a microUSB charging port and a microphone hole.

The back cover can be removed by prying on the lower right edge.

Under it hide, firstly, slots for SIM cards. The phone supports two micro SIM cards, and only one of them can be used as Internet access and 3G / 4G support, any one of your choice. After we assign a SIM card as the main one, the second one will only work in 2G mode. There is also a separate slot for a microSD memory card. The manufacturer claims support for up to 32 GB, but in reality, the smartphone easily coped with a 64 GB card. Perhaps there is support and large in volume, but I did not have such in stock. I note that two independent slots for SIM cards and a memory card is the second significant plus, for some reason many manufacturers make a combined slot, thereby limiting the choice either in favor of two SIM cards, or one, but with a memory card. And here we can take advantage of all the "benefits" to the fullest, especially since there is support for hot measurements of both)).

Having removed back cover, we can also see that we have a non-removable battery, its capacity is declared as 3000 mAh. Is this so, I'll try to find out, but a little later.

The cover that the seller put separately sat on the phone perfectly. All holes for microphones, sockets are available, there are also specially made hard buttons from the end.

Display
Nubia N1 Lite is equipped with a display from Sharp, with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and a diagonal of 5.5 inches. Made using IPS technology, 2.5D and has no air gap between matrix and sensor (OGS). The pixel density is 267ppi, which for such big screen many will say not enough, but in the process of practical use, no graininess was noticed with the naked eye. Of course, you can see the pixels if you really want to, but this is not a FullHD display. The margin of brightness is decent, as is the readability of the screen in general. In the daytime, under the sun's rays, the picture on the display fades, but you can still distinguish what is on it.

Viewing angles are maximum, color reproduction is not distorted except when looking at the screen at an angle diagonally. Then the colors are slightly inverted into cold or warm tones. You can see this clearly in the photo below.

The screen is not deprived of a good oleophobic coating, fingerprints are easily erased. The test with a drop of water was successfully passed, it does not spread over the screen, but rolls along it without leaving any traces. Everything seems to be fine, but there is also a fly in the ointment in this barrel of honey, this is the absence of a protective layer. The display surface can be easily scratched if you carry the phone for a couple of days in your pocket with change and other junk. It would be better if the seller instead of a silicone case, invested protective film or glass.

Multi-touch for 10 touches, which is not bad for a state employee. And besides default settings image has an additional feature called MiraVision. Allows you to customize the image displayed on the screen in more detail to suit your needs, or use existing profiles.

An example with dynamic contrast disabled and enabled.

Communication and wireless interfaces
The smartphone supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks. European frequencies, including those used in Russia for 4G Band 20 and Band 40. This is not surprising because the device has global firmware and is oriented to the European market.
Supported frequencies:
4G: FDD TDD-LTE Band 1/3/7/5/8/20/40
3G: WCDMA 850/900/2100MHz
2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
Communication keeps confidently, I did not notice any problems during the use of the phone, the interlocutor heard me well as I did. The speaker volume is average. I don't know what this is about, but Nubia keeps the 4th generation network better than my main phone, where Xiaomi mi4S switches to 2G Nubia N1 Lite continues to work in 4G.

Wi-fi module works only with a frequency of 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz is not. The reception of the signal did not raise any questions, when compared with other devices, it catches it at about the same level.

Only one type of global positioning is available for navigation - GPS. In an open area, it catches about 8-10 satellites. The cold start took about 2 minutes, subsequent launches of navigation were accompanied by more quick search satellites. During the test trip, communication with them was not lost. At the window in a closed room, of course, he sees a smaller number of satellites, in my case there were 7-8 of them. There is a magnetic compass. In addition, there is Bluetooth version 4.1 and FM radio.

OS and interface
The device runs on the operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a proprietary graphical shell Nubia Ui 3.0. The OS version is still up-to-date, but not the latest, as is the graphical shell. In appearance, this is almost a naked android, the shell acts, as it seems to me, a kind of theme. At the time of writing the review, no updates have been found, whether they will be known at all. Out of the box, there is support for the normal Russian language, no translated places or Chinese have been noticed.

Stock apps from android 6.

Applications Music, Voice Recorder, Radio are also standard without visual changes. The rear speaker has an average volume, when listening at maximum volume it does not wheeze. But the sound quality itself is C grade, the sound is flat and some kind of metallic.

Fingerprint scanner settings look pretty standard. Before assigning a fingerprint to unlock the screen, you must set up a password, pin code, or graphic key. After that, a menu opens with the addition of fingerprints, which can be saved five different. In addition, in addition to the standard screen unlock function, a fingerprint can be assigned to any file or application. When you launch such a file or application, a window will appear asking you to enter a code or lift your finger to unlock it. Works fingerprint scanner very fast, response time is less than a second. The percentage of successful unlocks is 8 out of 10, which I consider a good result.

From interesting features I can note that this is the ability to set the time to turn on and off the smartphone, as well as the Turbo mode. When this mode is turned on, both wi-fi and mobile transmission data to speed up the process of downloading large files.

The smartphone has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Of these 16GB, only 11.14GB is available to the user, the rest is occupied by the system. If necessary, you can expand the internal storage using microSD memory cards. In my case, I checked the card for 64GB, the phone saw it without problems.

There is also OTG support, ie. connection external drives through a special adapter.

Camera
Nubia N1 Lite is equipped with two camera modules, front 5 MP with interpolation up to 8 MP (with a maximum image resolution of 2160 by 3840) and rear 8 MP with interpolation up to 13 MP (4864 by 2736). Both cameras have flashes, the front with one LED and the rear with two, but without a distinction between cold and warm tone. The camera is not the strongest side of this smartphone. If in the daytime with good lighting the pictures are even more or less normal, then at night the picture is smeared and it is difficult to focus.

Examples of pictures on the main camera:

Crop.

HDR

No HDR

In principle, the main camera does not shoot badly in macro mode (7-8 cm minimum distance to the object), satisfactorily in the daytime. The front camera for selfies in good light also takes normal pictures, especially since there is a flash that also contributes.
As for the video, it shoots it at a maximum resolution of 1280x720 pixels (HD) in 3gp format, 30 frames per second. The quality of shooting leaves much to be desired, an example can be seen below.

Hardware and performance (hardware)
The smartphone is powered by a not new, but well-known processor from MediaTek MTK6737 with 4 cores and a frequency of 1.3GHz. Responsible for the graphics Mali-T720MP2 with a frequency of 650 MHz. It is not necessary to call this processor super-efficient, it can more be attributed to the middle or even below the middle class. Placed in many budget phones since mid 2016. With the configuration of the device that we have, it will not be possible to play some demanding modern games. Normally you can play something like Subway Surf, Asphalt 8 (at medium settings). The more demanding World of Tanks Blits runs only on low settings with an average frame rate of 35-38fps.

autonomy
The device has a 3000 mAh lithium-polymer battery, well, at least that's what the manufacturer claims. The battery is non-removable, so it will not be possible to estimate its dimensions and weight. In order to check what kind of real capacity, I waited until the phone is completely discharged and turned off. After that, without including the phone, I put it on charge through the ZKEtech tester. As can be seen from the graph, the charge current at the maximum was at around 1.4A at 5V. Unfortunately, there is no support for fast charging, I checked it with a charger that supports MTK-PE (fast charging protocol for MediaTek processors). In total, 2910 mAh poured into the battery in 3 hours and 6 minutes. And I would like to note that the phone takes the main capacity (about 2300 mAh) exactly in the first hour and a half of charging, then the current gradually decreases. Well, the test shows that the manufacturer did not lie and the device has a 2900-3000 mAh battery (taking into account losses during testing).

With active use: always-on Internet (wi-fi), about 15 calls with a total duration of more than 30 minutes, a few games and Internet surfing, a couple of dozen photos, the phone lasted about 24 hours, the screen worked as a result of 7 hours. A decent result, with moderate use of a smartphone, I think he will live 1.5 days without problems.

The test to continue scrolling youtube videos in 720p resolution lasted exactly 7 hours. Screen brightness was set to 50%, volume at maximum. Of course, the video clip is not so dynamic, but in general it will go for a general assessment. Watching two movies in 720p resolution should be enough

In the PCMark test at 50% brightness, the result is 7 hours 29 minutes.

Conclusion
Advantages:
+ good screen with a large margin of brightness, oleophobic coating and wide viewing angles, multi-touch for 10 touches.
+ Support for 3G/4G networks with all European frequencies. Reliable cellular reception.
+ Independent slots for two SIM cards and a memory card. 2 sim cards + memory card.
+ Autonomy, up to 7 hours of screen operation
+ European charging with a normal plug,
+ Nimble scanner fingerprint,
+ Adequate operation of navigation (GPS),
+ Front camera flash

Flaws:
- Weight and dimensions,
- Mediocre main camera,
- Absent fast charging,
- No protective layer on the display (anti-scratch)

ZTE has announced a new mobile phone that interested us primarily due to its battery life. Today, almost every middle-class product or even flagships have a small but very unpleasant problem - the battery only lasts for a day of work. That is, in the morning you remove it from charging, and in the evening you already need to put the gadget back, since the battery does not withstand active use. The ZTE Nubia N1 smartphone should not have such problems - the manufacturer installed a 5000 mAh battery here and this should be enough even for those who want to play modern shooters over the network. Although, of course, in this case, the phone will be discharged in six hours. Today we will take a closer look at this gadget and decide for ourselves whether it is worth the money and whether the large battery is enough to attract the consumer. However, there are plenty of options on the market with similar benefits that are not popular.

Filling

The processor called MediaTek Helio P10 is taken as the basis for the performance of the mobile phone. This new model, you should have seen it in mid-range smartphones, the processor is built on a 64-bit architecture and runs on eight processing cores with a clock speed of 2.0 gigahertz. I hope everyone understands that this smartphone will be able to run any game that you can only find on the Internet on Android. We will not even talk about high-definition films and other entertainment things, and everything is clear. Support the performance of the mobile phone will be 3 gigabytes of RAM. This is enough to ensure that your smartphone does not experience any problems with applications running in the background. You can store personal content on the built-in 64 GB storage, if this is not enough for you, you can put a memory card of the same size.

Case design

The smartphone is available in two body colors - silver and gold. It is worth noting that many on the net have found a lot of similarities between this product and mobile iPhone. On the front panel, which by the way white color, there is only a touch key Home, display, camera and speaker with sensors. The back side merges with the side faces, there are two dividing strips. The main camera is also located here, which protrudes slightly from behind the body, a flash, a fingerprint sensor and a company logo. It looks expensive, but the truth is a bit like the iPhone 6.

Bonuses

A huge advantage of the smartphone is the display - with a diagonal of 5.5 inches, its resolution is 1920 by 1080 pixels, the matrix is built using IPS technology with wide viewing angles and realistic color reproduction. Separately, it is worth praising the 13 megapixel camera with excellent quality video filming. Now this is a rather important function, since they shoot everything, in large volumes. The smartphone works, by the way, on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the proprietary Nubia UI 4.0 shell - the manufacturer does not dare to abandon its proprietary appearance.

Outcome

Now let's talk about the cost of a mobile phone. For 250 bucks you get quite a modern gadget with powerful processor, which can easily handle any tasks, enough RAM, a high-quality display and camera, a modern operating system and the ability to enjoy all these benefits for a long time. You will not be able to find something similar from LG or Samsung, keep in mind. So the smartphone has a chance of success, and it is very clear.
